Explore the Universe 2175 – The First Gameplay Trailer Is Live

Today I released the first gameplay trailer for Explore the Universe 2175.

This project has been a long time in the making, and this trailer is the first public look at what the game actually is to play — not a cinematic pitch, but a snapshot of the systems I’ve been building.

Explore the Universe 2175 is an open-world space game focused on:

  • Physics-based combat
  • Weapons with real inertia and momentum
  • Base building and orbital defenses
  • Tower defense mechanics at a galactic scale
  • AI factions operating independently in a living, procedural galaxy

The core idea is simple:

the universe doesn’t pause for the player.

Factions expand, fight, trade, and collapse whether you’re there or not. Gravity matters. Momentum matters. Positioning matters. Gravity can be your biggest ally… or obstacle.

Why This Game Exists

Most space games lean hard into either arcade action or pure strategy. I wanted to build something in between — a system-driven universe where combat, exploration, and long-term planning all coexist.

That means:

  • Ships don’t stop when you stop pressing keys
  • Weapons output has environmental consequences
  • Defensive structures create real control zones
  • AI entities make decisions and evolve without player input

The result is a galaxy that feels less like a level and more like a place. A very large place.

About the Trailer

This first trailer focuses on clarity over hype.

Everything shown represents real gameplay or real systems currently in development. This is live game play.

There’s still a lot to build and refine, but this trailer captures the direction of the project and the foundations it’s built on.

Wish lists make a real difference for indie developers and directly affect visibility.

What’s Next

Over the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing:

  • Deeper looks at individual systems (physics, AI, base defense)
  • Development insights and design decisions
  • Progress updates as the game continues to evolve

This is still early — but it’s finally public.

Thanks for checking it out.
