Explore the Universe 2175 | Official Game Soundtrack

🚀

by the E.T.

The official original soundtrack for Explore the Universe 2175 was created alongside the game itself — built in parallel with code, systems, and late-night debugging sessions.

Over the last year, my daily routine became a loop:

boot the codebase → write a melody → forget about it → return to systems → repeat.

That rhythm created flow — and the soundtrack grew naturally out of the same iterative mindset that drives game development.

Grind - the E.T. cover art

This OST leans into melodic atmospheres, heavy bass, dubstep, techno, bass house, IDM, and ambient space music, designed to support exploration, combat, AI encounters, and the vast emptiness of space.

Games are better with bass.

Games are way better with dubstep.

🌌 Sound Designed for Space

Working on Explore the Universe 2175 pushed my sound design forward — deeper textures, wider stereo fields, and more cinematic atmospheres intended for background gameplay, exploration, and high-intensity moments.

Many of these tracks are featured directly in-game via InterGalactic Radio™, the in-universe radio system available in the ETU demo and full release.

🎧 Release Strategy

The soundtrack is being released on SoundCloud over the course of several weeks to keep momentum high — so make sure to follow and check back regularly.

🎥 A music video for Emergence is coming soon — it’s my favorite track on the album and the one I spent the most time refining (40–50 hours easily).

Writing music became a way to prime my brain for higher-quality, faster coding. Iteration, timing, structure — music and software development are deeply connected.

🛰️ Track List & Descriptions

Prelude – Explore the Stars

Ambient, spacious, and calm. Designed as background music for exploration — this became one of my favorite atmospheric pieces in the game.

Track 1 – Emergence

The centerpiece of the album. Heavy, melodic, aggressive, and detailed. Unique basslines and sound design throughout — please play this loud. Club-tested energy.

Track 2 – Turbulence

Driven by rhythm and momentum. This one makes me want to move every time.

Track 3 – Monsieur LeChonk

Hard techno with industrial atmospheres. Long-form, hypnotic, and relentless — likely the longest track I’ve ever written.

Track 4 – Grind

Classic bass house with wide stereo effects and a clean groove. Simple, powerful, effective.

Track 5 – A Digital Doom

Dark, cinematic, and atmospheric. Written specifically for MEGABOT, the god-like AI antagonist in ETU. A blast to create.

Track 6 – Binary

Heavy house, club-ready, and high energy. This one smashes.

Track 7 – The Mycelar Tribes

IDM-inspired, playful, and rhythmic. Festival-style movement with alien energy.

Track 8 – Going Away

Deep house with emotional vocals and layered atmospheres. One of the most personal tracks on the album.

Track 9 – Get Down

Straightforward dance track. Loud bass. No excuses.

Track 10 – New Nebula

Designed to sound like a videogame. Exploration-focused, atmospheric, and cinematic.

Track 11 – Drive

Short, focused techno. Tight and efficient.

Track 12 – Lower End

A study in sub-bass, EQ, and low-frequency control. Big thanks to Noer the Boy for guidance here.

🎁 Bonus Tracks

  • Northern Winds Atmospherics — ETU loading screen music. Cold, harsh, and spacey.
  • Cosmic Drift — Floating danger in the void.
  • Dust Collector — Time to gather resources.
  • Doja Cat – Say So (the E.T. Remix) — Megabass, high energy, and honestly… kind of fantastic. Possibly more time spent on this than Turbulence.

Upcoming Creations

Alongside finishing ETU, I’ve been deep in music software R&D:

  • Voice synthesis tools
  • Spatial audio enhancements for Explore the Universe 2175
  • More dynamic foreground / background sound systems

Expect new sound tools and releases from Telford Projects this year.

🌍 the E.T. — New Music Website

I’ve also launched a new music website (currently under construction). It will become the primary hub for future releases, tools, and albums — including my next full project.

It’s still early, but you can already find my latest tracks there.

More updates soon.
