Pure Spice – the E.T.

This electro house track has been in the works for more than 6 months; I started with the vocal chops and got the original idea for the melody. The bass sound design was created as a compliment to the vocals, but its does take over a bit in the drop which I like a lot. It took a lot of working and reprocessing to get the bass to where it sits now. Phaseplant was very helpful with this process. There is a background atmosphere that I love as well that peaks in the middle of the track; it created a very mysterious vibe for the rest of the sounds to punch through.

Track 2 of EROS p3

Drums, and Bass House Beats w Vocal Chops

The drum beat is a fairly typical house combination; at the end of the track I do a little bass switch up that I think is fun and suits the temp change in the track. It becomes more of a half-time trap track about halfway through the album. This is one of the first pieces of music that I would describe as a journey. I think I have gotten to that point with a lot of the tracks of this album. I hope you like it!

The Visuals and Cover Art

I am really happy with the software that I use for the visualizations; it has a very unique distortion engine that is fun to apply to effects; I can see it becoming a very useful tool in the future of both live production and visualizations for music. The cover art was generated by prompting artiphoria.ai and edited using Befunky.com.

the E.T. Presents!! – A Digital Native in an Analog World

This is a really fun track that I made about throwing my cell phone into the woods about three weeks ago. I’ve had a really good time detaching from my cell-phone since then and I have the new iPhone now, but I will always miss the times when I did not have the ability to access a phone. I’m not super stoked about how the world is changing to digital and I think it’s best if we, as a society, take our time to adopt new technologies, such as AI. The Analog world is so cool; I highly recommend giving yourself sometimes without technology, especially a phone, sometime in the next few months. Take a week off and explore the real world…..

Mystery is OUT NOW

the E.T.’s latest melodic electro house track is a well mixed 120 BPM adventure in the key of D.

Production

I spent about 6 months producing the track and I got a lot out of trying to work with all of the different sounds and variations of the original melody that I was able to create. I used all of my production technology, which now includes Fabfilter PROQ3, Izotope’s Trash 2, Sylenth, Reaktor, and all of the native Ableton plugins.

Morgan Page - the E.T. remix

New Music and more Focus on Yoga

Morgan Page – Beautiful Disaster (the E.T. remix)

This past week has been great for my yoga practice and also my music writing, usually the two go together for me. Hence the above remix of Morgan Page – Beautiful Disaster. The vocals are fantastic, I really hope you like the mix!

I subscribe to a sample library that I have a certain amount of download credits to each month so that I can download professional sounds, mostly drums and specialty synthesizer sounds or vocals. They are royalty free, but I always manipulate them enough to make them unrecognizable anyways.

They have remix contests and this contest in particular had some excellent vocals to work with, which I was looking for in Splice anyways, so I decided to just go ahead and do a remix instead.

So my latest track was a fantastic mix-down experience because I got to work closely with vocal samples to making them fit into the overall house mix that I created to accompany it. The vocals make the track stand out against a lot of my other work, but the sound design is very similar and the leads are Juno emulations.

I took a lot of new sound design techniques that I have been working with and applied them to the stems that were provided. The track is pretty simple, but the drum-beat is very original and the bass is super dope, I seriously can’t wait to hear it on a louder system. Part of the reason I make music is that I like bass music and house so much; it gives me a good perspective on going after the future of the genres and market.

The percussion also keeps the track moving at all time, while an electro stab that I added creates a bit of contrasting melody against the chords of the track, just to spice it up and provide a bit of my own flavor. I think the best part of the track are the FX and the beat. On some louder speakers those drums will smash.

Anyways, I hope you like the track. I can’t offer you a download, but here are the streaming links:

Juno - the E.T.

Juno – Track 10 of the HAZE EP by the E.T.

Juno – the E.T.

Juno is a 128 BPM electro adventure through the sonic frequencies of the blissfully well craft Juno instruments from Yahama which inspired the name of the track. Initially inspired by a bass-drop competition featuring the words of Bruce Lee (that you can hear at the beginning of the track), this music kind of surprised me towards the end of writing the HAZE EP and I wrote the meat of the track over the course of two days. It kinda just came outta nowhere, a nice little surprise with a big kick! This mix is one of the best yet.

Pusher - the E.T.

Creating EDM all the time

What I love (creating tracks like Pusher – the E.T.)

Creating music like Pusher – the E.T. is my passion. There is only one other thing that I like to do as much as make music and that is practicing yoga. The two are very equal in my mind. Kind of like opposite ends of a coin. Music is a huge reason that I have been identifying to heavily with Taoism.

The two arts  have many similarities, and in my experience they occupy kind of the same space. Actually, let’s include teaching yoga in that list, even though teaching yoga feels like much more work than either music or practicing yoga. All three help me to hone my creativity into passions that help me to grow as an individual. My music is in its adolescence, but my yoga is pretty mature (after nearly a decade of practicing). Teaching is becoming more and more of a rock for my mind to output creativity, though it is very taxing and it requires tons of energy.

Making music all the time

Sitting down in front of a computer for 8 hours and just writing music for that entire time has become somewhat second nature to me. I’ve even started going all day, for about 12 hours, though its pretty much impossible to do multiple days of that in a row and still make a quality end-product. I feel like that hard work will make my success inevitable, my sound will just be so polished and powerful.

Recently I bought some new software that I am very excited to use in all of my productions. I am working towards a new computer that is ultra fast. But really, nothing holds me back from pursuing the dreamy kind of soundscapy electro bass house that I’ve always loved. Now, I can do it my way, in my own style.

My latest music video for Pusher is a good example of a track that is perfect for a 3D immersive video experience, but I don’t yet have 3D software. I did my best with Magic Visualizer and this is the result, let me know what you think of it!

Pusher – the E.T. (music video)

The E.T. is is creating tons of new music

I also have several other tracks that I am really looking forward to releasing! I’ve sent some to labels, but I think I am going to plan on releasing the album around 9/1. I am trying to get full artwork created for all of the tracks, so here’s to collaborating with other artists! Also, I am making a collaborative track with Beefus B. Stoked on it, his sound is ultra unique.

Also, I am participating in this contest thing with Bruce Lee lyrics. My track is almost composed, just working on the bass for the drops. Check out the trailer, its hilarious: www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNiY01C75xg

Check back soon for more yoga, music, and updates about my art.
