Patanjali

Patanjali is often represented as a single man, but many believe he was a group of men. This was the founder of the modern yoga principles, also known as the eight limbs of yoga or Ashtanga. Sri K Patthabi Jois later developed the Ashtanga system of purification from the yoga sutras which has turned into vinyasa or power yoga in today’s world. Patanjali is largely credited with the founding of yoga by recording small teachings, or sutras that were passed down orally and eventually written.
